The Dark Door is a live role-playing organization that has been creating horror-based events since 1993, set in various time periods but primarily in the 1920s, and featuring the Cthulhu Mythos. Players assume the roles of investigators and are collectively pitted against malevolent forces. The goal is to frighten and entertain participants while they unravel secrets and confront powerful extraterrestrial entities. Interactions with other players and non-player characters will take place in character, with some being trustworthy and others not. The discovery of clues, unveiling of secrets, and summoning of beasts will take place, with many fatalities expected. However, the dead often become animated.
